Almost three years ago, I lost my dad unexpectedly. He was my best friend. It’s taken me three years to get myself back on my feet, but not a day goes by that I don’t think about him. But through all the tears, the heartache and the strife, I’ve always reminded myself to seek the light. My father loved my family and his positive outlook on life made me realize that as sad as it is to lose someone you love, you can’t dwell on it and let your sorrow consume you. One of the last places we went together was a lighthouse on Tybee Island off the coast of Georgia. I’ve always loved lighthouses and the memories now connected to them, so I got this tattoo for him.

It says, “Where there is no struggle, there is no strength.”
I got this yo represent majority of my teenage life, as I have battled constantly throughout it and without those battles, I wouldn’t be the strong person I am today.
I believe you have to go through struggles, to find strength.
